Whether you’re a business owner or working for a larger company, here are 10 tips for getting the most out of your business of your coworking space.

1. Explore your options

As in a classic office, every coworking space will have a specific and unique culture. Before you settle on a space, you want to make sure that your company and / or your company adapts well to this culture. It is also important to ensure that you have the appropriate level of confidentiality or that socially active coworking spaces do not become a distraction to do the job.

You also want to make sure that it has all the necessary equipment, such as access to a conference room, a break room or an appropriate kitchen, access to audio-visual equipment or copy and fax services. One of the keys to finding the right location is to use a daily or weekly subscription before you sign up for a long term.

2. Attend networking events

Networking events in a coworking space may include mixers, guest speakers, workshops, Christmas parties or other types of events. These events are not only a great opportunity to get to know your colleagues better, but they can also help you broaden and broaden your personal horizons. As a CPA, you do not often have the opportunity to attend many film / video workshops, but in a coworking space, you might well – and you never know what you might learn.

3. Socialize

Socializing at work has a number of important benefits, and socializing in a coworking space can have even more. When you socialize in a traditional office environment, you usually meet people with the same information that you represent the same type of business. However, in a coworking space, you can have conversations with people working in totally different areas that can provide inspiration or a totally new way of seeing your own area.

4. Know the management

Most coworking spaces have a community leader who stays tuned to the community. Remember that the coworking community is not just individuals or businesses currently in residence, it also includes all those who have gone through. The community leader can not only help you get the most out of all available space, but also direct you to outside resources.

5. Be useful – in a good way

This may seem like a good thing, but it is not. Help can be divided into two types of assistance: reactive and proactive. Proactive help is getting in where your help has not been requested. This can not only complicate things, but also cause friction. Help reactive, however, help when asked to help. Seek to be helpful, but almost make sure it is responsive and non-proactive.

6. Maintain your productivity

As in any office, productivity can be distracting. Even though a coworking space can help you increase your productivity, as in most things in life, it all depends on what you do with it. Just like any office, you want to use the tools and resources you need to maintain and continuously optimize your productivity.

7. Get the right equipment

While open office plans offer many advantages, one of the biggest drawbacks is usually noise. If you are easily distracted by noise, you may want to invest in good noise canceling headphones. You may also want to invest in a replacement set of cables or cords you need for your electronics and make sure you have a comfortable place to sit and work. Not everyone wants or needs to sit at a desk, but if that’s what you need, make sure you have one with which you can work comfortably.

8. Become a member of the community

Another great benefit of coworking spaces is the community they favor, which can offer the benefits of a healthy corporate culture. Even if you do not have to constantly try to sell your product or service to your colleagues, this does not mean that you can not offer and seek advice or expert advice. Do not just look for sales opportunities, look for connection opportunities.

9. Enjoy the meeting rooms

Most coworking spaces offer a variety of meeting rooms, from conference rooms to training rooms. A disadvantage to this is that there is often competition for these rooms, so be sure to book one as soon as you know you need it. There may be nothing more frustrating than organizing a meeting to discover that you have no place to meet.

10. Be respectful of others

Some of the key principles to navigate a coworking space are the same as those that can help you navigate your life. These can include things like cleaning up after yourself or making sure you do not create distractions for others.

Unlike traditional offices, a coworking space offers much more flexibility. If you decide to work from home one day, you do not need to register. In addition, coworking spaces are often open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, allowing you to define the work schedule you want to work at the time that suits you best. Working in a coworking space has a number of advantages, but only if you approach it with discretion.
